Certified Pilates instructor
Kristen has always been active growing up playing many different sports and activities, and loves yoga, spinning, and interval training, but her heart will always belong to Pilates. She found Pilates as a way to help strengthen her core to protect her back. As someone with regular back aches from scoliosis, she says Pilates is the one exercise that stretches and strengthens her back at once, relieving tension and adding flexibility, while working the whole body. Her favorite quote from Joseph Pilates is, "You're only as old as your spine is flexible." She credits this method for getting her through two healthy pregnancies and helping her return quickly to regular sessions post pregnancy, providing an overall balance in her life. In June of 2009, Kristen completed her certification through the In Balance Pilates Certification which included 220 hours of practical work, observation, and apprenticeship on the work and equipment of Joseph H. Pilates. Kristen says, "Carrie has been a great mentor for me through my years as an instructor and I love my In Balance Pilates family."
